Nigde software partner: enterprise software for potatoes, apples and the cold chain
For a potato trader, a cold storage operator or a manufacturer in the organised industrial zone in Nigde (Niğde), the software problem usually comes down to the same thing: the weighbridge ticket for produce coming in from the field, the room and lot record in storage, temperature readings, the dispatch note and the e-invoice all live in separate places. Finding the right Nigde software is therefore less about buying a new program and more about tying those records together around a single lot number. When thousands of tonnes go into storage within a few weeks of harvest, spreadsheets and paper tickets create both errors and losses.
This guide is written for potato and apple growers, storage operators, food processors and manufacturers in Nigde OSB (the province’s organised industrial zone). Aksiyon Soft is headquartered in Samsun; we have no branch or office in Nigde. We deliver remotely and schedule on-site visits around the project plan for critical steps such as discovery, acceptance and go-live.
In short
- According to the provincial agriculture directorate’s 2025 activity report, Nigde ranks first in Türkiye for potato production, so lot and storage tracking must sit at the core of any system.
- As rock-cut and underground cold storage capacity grows, room-level stock, temperature and humidity records need to be visible on one dashboard.
- The ministry’s investment guide states that processing and packing capacity for potatoes and apples is insufficient; new plants will need ERP and traceability from day one.
- The right architecture connects the weighbridge, storage sensors, ERP, e-invoicing and the bank through a middleware layer.
- Aksiyon Soft works remotely with Nigde companies from its Samsun headquarters; there is no branch claim and site visits are planned.
How does Nigde’s economy shape its software needs?
According to the 2025 activity report of the Nigde Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, the province produced 974,649 tonnes of potatoes on roughly 243,750 decares in 2025, up from 915,734 tonnes the year before. The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry’s Nigde Agricultural Investment Guide, using 2024 TurkStat data, says Nigde supplies about 13% of Türkiye’s potato output. At that scale, purchases from hundreds of growers, storage and dispatch all have to be recorded one by one.
Apples are another key crop. The activity report highlights Amasya-type apples grown around Dündarlı, Hacıbeyli and Çamardı, and notes Ulukışla for cherries. The same report lists problems with post-harvest potato storage and dispatch among the province’s challenges; in software terms, the answer is stock visibility and dispatch planning.
On the industrial side, Nigde OSB sits at kilometre 7 of the Nigde–Bor road and shows its occupancy rate as 100% on its official website. Manufacturers there want to connect orders, production, quality and e-documents. For regional planning, Nigde is part of the TR71 region of the Ahiler Development Agency (AHİKA), headquartered in Nevsehir; companies applying for support programmes also need measurable outputs and reporting that software can provide.
How do you track stock and lots in cold storage?
According to an announcement by the Nigde Governorate, 16 underground rock-cut cold stores were planned on a 131,000 m² site in Aktaş owned by the Special Provincial Administration. Of the two completed blocks, Block A has 22 rooms with 3,520 tonnes of capacity and Block B has 20 rooms with 3,200 tonnes; three more stores totalling 10,500 tonnes are under construction. The announcement also says the cold store in Çamardı has been completed and the one in Altunhisar has reached 99%.
Stock by room, lot and owner
In shared stores, one room may hold produce belonging to several growers or traders. Every intake should therefore be recorded with room, lot, owner, variety and size grade, and every withdrawal deducted from the same lot number. Rent invoices, remaining stock and shrinkage can then be calculated per room, and the question “where is which product?” is answered in minutes at the end of the season.
Temperature, humidity and cold-chain sensors
The governorate’s announcement aims to extend shelf life through ventilation and climate control systems. On the software side, that means collecting temperature and humidity readings through an IoT gateway, raising alerts when thresholds are exceeded and linking the measurement history to the relevant lot. When a buyer or auditor asks “under what conditions did this batch wait in storage?”, the answer comes from a report.

Middleware and system integration
A typical potato or storage company in Nigde runs at least five systems: weighbridge software, storage sensors, accounting or ERP, a connection to the Revenue Administration (GİB) through a private integrator, and the bank. Wiring them point to point multiplies the number of integrations with every new system. Middleware binds every system to a single message contract: when a weighbridge ticket arrives a lot is opened, when a storage intake is approved the room stock is updated, and when a dispatch is closed an e-dispatch note and e-invoice request is created.
Concrete Nigde scenarios include receiving weighbridge weights with an idempotency key so duplicates are never recorded; buffering sensor readings at the gateway when the connection drops and forwarding them later; queueing and retrying invoice requests when GİB responds slowly; and posting storage rent accruals to the ERP through a nightly reconciliation. According to GİB’s e-document site, an e-invoice is an XML document in the UBL-TR standard transmitted over a central platform, so format changes directly affect the middleware.
For architectural detail, see our article on enterprise integration middleware architecture; for retries and duplicate records, the outbox pattern and idempotency guide; and for the e-document format, our piece on the GİB UBL-TR update.
What changes for food processing and contract farming?
The Nigde Agricultural Investment Guide states that there are not enough plants to process the potatoes grown in the province, and not enough processing and packing facilities for apples either. The guide also points to the potential of contract farming. AHİKA has published a feasibility report on underground potato stores as well.
When a new processing or packing plant opens, software needs appear on the first day: opening lots at raw material intake, managing recipes and production orders, linking quality results to batches and generating e-documents at dispatch. In contract farming, the grower contract, field record, advances and delivered quantity should all be tracked in a single account. Designing these records correctly from the start provides the traceability later demanded by export customers or supermarket audits.
How does a remote enterprise software partnership work?
Our model with Nigde companies rests on written scope, regular demos and a transparent backlog. Discovery sessions start over video and work through a process map, a system inventory and sample documents such as weighbridge tickets, storage intake forms and dispatch notes. When we need to see the real workflow in a store, we schedule a site visit ahead of the harvest.
Day-to-day collaboration continues remotely with a shared backlog and weekly status summaries. If you want to compare the region’s other provinces, read our guides to an Aksaray enterprise software partner, Kayseri enterprise software and a Konya software partner; for the other hub of potato storage, see the Nevsehir enterprise software partner guide, and for TR71’s SME profile, our Kirsehir software guide.
How long does a storage-focused software project take?
The exact duration depends on scope, so we do not quote figures before discovery. In Nigde, however, the main driver of the timeline is not the software itself but the harvest and storage period. Nobody wants to switch to a new system while produce is going into storage; go-live should be planned for the quieter months before harvest.
A phased roadmap is usually the least risky option. The first phase delivers the purchasing screen, lot opening and room-level storage stock. The second adds sensor data, alerts and rent accruals. The third completes e-invoice and e-dispatch automation, management reports and, if needed, a contract farming module.
Checklist: before starting a software project in Nigde
- Have you inventoried your weighbridges, storage rooms and sensor devices?
- Is it written down where the lot number is created and which documents it travels to?
- In shared stores, are the rules for stock ownership and rent calculation clear?
- Do you know the API access offered by your private integrator for e-invoices and e-dispatch notes?
- Have you defined how data is kept and who is alerted when a sensor connection drops?
- Have you planned go-live before the harvest and storage period?
How can Aksiyon Soft help?
Through our enterprise software solutions we move your purchasing, lot and storage processes onto a single operations dashboard. With our API and integration service we build the middleware for weighbridge, sensor, ERP, GİB and bank connections; you can explore our end-to-end process approach on the integrated enterprise operations and process management platform page.
The delivery model is clear: a discovery and scope document, a prioritised MVP (for example purchasing and storage stock only), working software demos in two-week sprints, a hypercare period after go-live and then SLA-backed maintenance. The team is in Samsun and works remotely with customers in Nigde and across Türkiye. We have collected the questions to ask when evaluating a vendor in our guide on how to choose a software company.
Frequently asked questions
Do you have an office in Nigde?
No. Our headquarters is in Samsun and we have no branch or reseller in Nigde. We deliver remotely and make planned site visits for steps such as discovery and go-live.
Do we have to replace our current weighbridge and accounting software?
Usually not. If the systems can export data or offer an interface, they are connected through middleware; replacement only comes up if a device or program provides no data at all.
Can you connect cold storage sensor data to the software?
Yes. If the sensors or gateway expose data over a standard protocol, readings are collected, linked to the relevant room and lot, and alerts are raised when thresholds are exceeded. The device inventory is taken during discovery.
How is stock ownership tracked in shared stores?
Every intake is recorded with room, lot and owner; withdrawals are deducted from the same lot. Rent and service fees are calculated from these records and reports can be produced per owner.
How long does e-invoice and e-dispatch integration take?
It depends on your current ERP and the API capabilities of your private integrator. After discovery we share the scope and assumptions in writing and build the timeline around the harvest period.
Who owns the source code and the data?
This is settled in the contract; in enterprise projects the aim is to hand the source code over to the customer and keep data in the environment the customer chooses. KVKK (Turkish data protection) obligations are addressed during discovery.
